Project Bags

The fabric for my project bags is picked out by me on my trips to Paris, my favourite place to fabric shop. Each bag features contrasting button holes and cotton tape ties, as well as a hand stamped logo patch in the right hand corner. I make them in two sizes, medium and large. Medium measures approx. 29cm wide and 26cm high, large is approx. 34cm wide and 26cm high. All sizes are approx. as I try to limit fabric wastage as much as possible.

Medium £7          Large £8

Lavender Bags

All the lavender is grown organically by my mother in Wiltshire, when she cuts her lavender back each year, I dry it out and make use of it around the house. These lavender bags are made from fabric offcuts, and are great for keeping your drawers, cupboards, or even suitcases smelling lovely. I have also read that they are good for keeping the moths at bay- so I have even popped a few into my wool stash and WIP basket!

Fabric Wraps/Rolls

These wraps/rolls are really versatile. They can be used to transport/store anything from circular knitting needles, utensils, crochet hooks, drawing/painting supplies, etc! They come in two colours: Organic Avocado and Vintage Indigo. I have a few, which I use daily. One for my bamboo utensils, to keep in my handbag, and the other for my crochet hooks/circular knitting needles on the go. All handmade in South Birmingham.

All wraps are made with considerations on how to limit environmental impact, using thrifted or organic fibres (excluding the cotton patch logo labels). They measure approx. 28 by 22cm (to minimize fabric wastage, this may vary slightly). They all feature several thin compartments for storing knitting needles/crochet hooks/pens/paintbrushes/utensils etc, and one wider section which can be used for larger items such as a napkin/scissors/notebook etc. See photos for details. The cotton ties are thrifted. The logo is hand stamped onto cotton tape and stitched on. Each roll/wrap has a small amount of hand stitching, where I stitched it closed. Each wrap is different, as I manipulated the fabric in different ways before dyeing, making them beautifully unique. These are made in very limited numbers- please DM me on Instagram if interested and I can send you photos of the specific wraps available.

£20 each.

(This one is a little different- it has narrower slots- good for drawing/painting- it is still available for order).

Organic Avocado

These wraps are made from loomslate organic cretonne from Greenfibres, which has been washed and dyed with natural products only. The lovely pink colours on these wraps were achieved using leftover avocado skins and stones, which make a wonderful, lasting colour. The mordant (what sets the colour) used for this was soya milk, using Rebecca Desnos' method.

The avocado produces lovely dusky pink/blush shades. Colour is most true in the photo below:

Vintage Indigo

These wraps are made from vintage/thrifted fabrics, which have been given a new lease of life by being dyed using methods inspired by Shibori.

Beeswax Wraps

A set of two 100% cotton bees wax wraps. A sustainable and more eco friendly alternative to disposable packaging like cling film/saranwrap(?). Each pack contains a large and a medium sized sheet which is suitable for covering a sandwich or two and a snack (think homemade cookies/cake/chopped fruit etc)- this is what I had in mind for sizes when I made them. They can also be used to wrap cheese in the fridge, cover bowls, cut veg/fruit etc. Pretty much whenever you normally use cling film. Not suitable for raw meat/fish/excessively liquidy things/or right against a cut citrus (better to stick them in a bowl and cover the bowl). Cleaning must be done with cool water and a little bit of washing up liquid.

Please note: they are not just made from beeswax, but contain a few other natural oils etc to give them extra cling factor. Beeswax alone isn’t good enough at clinging to itself.

Each pack of 2 wraps is £7.50

Using a wax wrap as an alternative to wrapping paper (plus a gift in itself).

Reusable Face Wipes

Reusable face wipes are a great alternative to disposable wipes or cotton rounds, they are also much prettier. Each set consists of five wipes, which are made from a double layer of organic muslin, and backed onto either a printed cotton fabric or naturally dyed organic loomslate cretonne.

Simply use them as you would use disposable cotton rounds, then pop them in with your normal laundry. I recommend collecting them at on laundry day, popping them in an old pillowslip or lingerie bag. Every so often, I soak mine in hot water and washing liquid, but normally, I just wash them with my normal laundry. I wear a lot of eyeline, and use jojoba oil to remove my make up- I have never experienced any residue on my clothing, but I can't guarantee the same for you (for obvious reasons: different make up/remover/washing liquid/machine etc). If you are concerned, maybe test wash with old clothes/towels first?

Each pack of 5 wipes on printed cotton- £6.50, organic & naturally dyed sets are £7.50

PLEASE NOTE: As everything is handmade, everything is also unique. I am not a factory, so there will be slight differences between items, even if they are made with the intention of being the same.

Everything is shipped from Birmingham (UK), I try to keep postage costs down as much as possible, and as part of this, I do try to reuse packaging where possible. This is also better for the environment. I do this, without compromising on the security of the item being posted, or without sacrificing aesthetics (all of which are very important to me). If this is not in line with your needs, message me, and I will quote a slightly higher postage price to reflect the increased packaging costs incurred.

Any questions, feel free to DM on Instagram- I get these messages faster than on here.
